Alexander is the cornerstone of Edgewood College soccer, having led the men’s soccer team from 1990-2014 and the women’s soccer team from 1993-2018. In 26 seasons as the women’s head coach, Alexander has a career record of 331-160-29. Alexander is the only soccer coach to win Lake Michigan Coach of the Year honors, as voted on by his peers, in the same year in both the men’s and women’s soccer ranks.  He owns a total of 11 LMC Coach of the Year awards. Under his leadership, Eagles soccer reached the NCAA Tournament seven times. Overall, the men’s soccer program captured two regular season conference championships and five tournament titles. The women’s program won 10 regular season titles, including eight-straight from 1994-2001. The women’s team also gained seven tournament championships. Alexander made history in 2010, becoming the fifth coach in NCAA history to own 200 men’s and 200 women’s wins. In 2013 he became just the 17th coach in NCAA history to reach 500 wins and left the Eagles with 574 career victories. Alexander returned to Eagles athletics in 2019 to lead the women’s golf program. He also served in many other roles during his time, including head baseball and men’s tennis coach, as well as administrative roles.
