Matt Hill was arguably one of Edgewood College baseball’s best big game pitchers of all-time. Hill was a first team Lake Michigan Conference selection in 2000 and 2002 and was named to the ABCA All-Midwest Region Third Team in 2001. At the time of his induction he ranked second on the school’s all-time wins list with 19 and owns 12 complete games. Hill totaled 116 strikeouts, the sixth most in school history, while pitching over 266 innings. His greatest game may have actually come in an Eagle loss. Hill battled for 10 innings in a 9-8, 11-inning setback to top-ranked University of St. Thomas at the 2001 NCAA Midwest Regionals. St. Thomas went on to win the NCAA Division III National Championship.
