BRISTOL, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's golf team came out of the gate on fire on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles competed at the Battle on the Border hosted by Carthage College. A two-round score of 735 landed them second in the Eagles team low 36-hole score record book. The Eagles finished in 13th place of 17 teams.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Newcomer Milanne Dahmen was impressive for the Eagles, carding a team-best 180. She opened on Friday with a 93 and improved by six strokes to an 87 in round-two.
- Braxton Brown was next in line for the Eagles. She was the picture of consistency, recording a 91 on both days, good for a two-round total of 182 and a spot in the top 50.
- Dawson Anderson carded a two-round total of 183 in her first collegiate rounds. Her best score came on day two, a 90.
- Sarah Zimmerman, the final newcomer for the Eagles, recorded a 190 over two rounds. Zimmerman saw an eight-stroke improvement on day two, carding a 91.
- Nadia Marshall rounded out the Eagles pack with a score of 272. She opened with a 135 before carding a 137 in round-two.
BEYOND THE LINKS
- The Eagles team total of 735 is the Eagles best score since 2011 when the team carded a 693 (+121) over 36-rounds at the Benedictine Fall Invitational.
- Edgewood College recorded a 17-stroke improvement in round-two of the meet. The Eagles round-two total of 359 goes down in the record books in the top-10 of team 18-hole scores.
THE TOURNAMENT
- UW-Whitewater had the top team at the event, taking home the victory with a team score of 633. NACC rival Aurora was just 12-strokes behind with a 36-hole score of 645.
- Elizabeth Johnson of UW-Whitewater took home medalist honors, carding a two-day total of 149 (+5). She opened with a 77 before shooting an even 72 on Saturday.

- Edgewood College will travel to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to compete in the Marian University Fall Invite on Friday, September 8. Action will take place at Rolling Meadows Golf Course.
