KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The Edgewood University women's golf team competed at the Midwest Region Fall Classic on Friday and Saturday. Due to weather, this year's event was shortened to just 18 holes after a storm blew through during round two. The Eagles score of 386 put them in 33rd place of 39 teams overall at Brighton Dale Links.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grace Schomin led the Eagles on Friday, carding a 91. Schomin's round featured three pars and a birdie on hole 15.
- Kendall Kafar was right behind Schomin, carding a 92. Kafar carded six pars on Friday, her best nine holes coming on the front.
- Madison Najar was next up for the Eagles, recording a 94. Najar added a bird on hole 13, a par five.
- Lilly Sachtjen and Hannah Hegland rounded out the Eagles lineup with scores of 109 and 119, respectively.
- Kamryn Ibinger represented the Eagles as an individual, carding a 121.
THE MEET
- Northwestern St. Paul took home the team crown, carding a one-round total of 303 (+15). They battled against Aurora University to lead by seven strokes after Friday's round.
- Paige Johnson of Northwestern took home medalist honors. Johnson carded an even 72 in round one.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles will host the Edgewood University Fall Invite on Sunday, September 28 and Monday, September 29. Action is set to open on Sunday at Noon from Odana Hills Golf Course.
