WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – The Edgewood University women's golf team competed at the three-round NACC Championships at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club. The Eagles finished in sixth place with a team score of 1075. Freshman Grace Schomin led the Eagles, finishing in a tie for 12th place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles team score of 1075 is the second best 54-hole score in program history. Edgewood University saved their best for last, shooting a 355 in Monday's third round. The Eagles third round score was their best of the fall season.
- Grace Schomin led the Eagles with a 248 across three rounds of play. Schomin's round is the second-best 54-hole score in program history. The freshman finished in a tie for 12th place. Schomin's first round was her best, an 81that featured two birdies.
- Kendall Kafar closed out the three-round tournament with her career-best 18-hole score of 82. Kafar rounded out the tournament with a 259, a career best, to finish in a tie for 21st place.
- Madison Najar carded a 276 to finish in 34th place. Najar's second round went down as a career-best mark of 87.
- Lilly Sachtjen added another personal best over the championship, carding a 93 in the final round. Sachtjen posted a three-round score of 292 to finish in 40th place.
- Hannah Hegland rounded out her fall season with a total score of 338. Hegland's best came in round one, a 109.
- Kamryn Ibinger posted a total score of 339 to round out the Eagles lineup. Her 54-hole score is a career-best.
THE MEET
- Auror University won the team title by 20 strokes over St. Norbert College. The Spartans had five players in the top 10.
- Yinan Lu of Marian University captures medalist honors with a nine-over par 222. She fired off rounds of 76, 75, and 71.
