Meet Results

MADISON, Wis. – A little home cooking served the Edgewood College women's golf team well, as the Eagles shot their lowest team round of the season at the Yahara Hills Golf Course. Edgewood College placed third to Concordia University Wisconsin and Wisconsin Lutheran College in their only home meet of the fall season.

THE BASICS
FINAL RESULT: Edgewood College, 3rd of 3 teams, 405
LOCATION: Yahara Hills G.C. (West), Madison, Wis.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College received a career-low score from every player on the team, led by Dana Marshall who fired an 89, for the first sub-90 round of her career and a fifth place finish.
- Kendelle Grube shot a 96 to break 100 for the first time this season, while Taylor Maier improved her career best by a full 21 strokes with a score of 108. Grube placed eighth out of 15 golfers in the event.
- Newcomers Betsy Ennis and Ashley Memmo completed the squad with new lows of 112 and 148 respectively.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- The team's score of 405 was the lowest posted by an Eagles team under second year head coach Darcy Kelly. It marked the program's lowest score since a 398 on April 29, 2013 at the Edgewood College Spring Invitational at Cherokee Country Club.
- Eight of Marshall's last 10 rounds dating back to last season have been under 100. Her scoring average this season stands at a career best 94.3 through three rounds.
- The eighth place finish marked Grube's best placement ever in a non-dual match event.

FOR THE FOES
- Concordia University Wisconsin claim the team title with a score of 352, to outpace Wisconsin Lutheran College's 372 total.
- CUW's Nina Puch fired a 10-over par 82 to take medalist honors at Yahara Hills. Warrior teammates Jordan Fenney and Ellyn Mortell tied for second with matching scores of 86.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will be off this weekend, but not idle. The Eagle team will volunteer their time on Saturday at the Seventh Annual Steve Ennis Memorial Golf Classic at the Edgerton Towne Country Club. The event raises money for scholarships in memory of freshman Betsy Ennis's father who passed away in 2009.
- The Eagles will travel to Bristol Oaks G.C., the site of the 2015 NACC Championships for an 18-hole triangular hosted by Lake Forest College on Friday, September 18.
