Schomin leads Eagles at shortened UW-Whitewater Spring Invite

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Edgewood University women's golf team competed at the UW-Whitewater Spring Invite on Friday and Saturday. Due to weather on Friday afternoon, the tournament was shortened to just 18 holes, which were completed on Saturday morning. The Eagles finish in 17th place of 18 teams with a score of 383.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grace Schomin carded an 86 to finish in a tie for 51st place. The freshman recorded seven pars in her round.

- Kendall Kafar posted a 90 to finish in a tie for 71st place. The sophomore carded four pars and a birdie on hole 13.

- Madison Najar finished in 95th place with a 101.

- Hannah Hegland and Lilly Sachtjen rounded out the Eagles scoring lineup with a 106 and 111, respectively.

THE MEET
- UW-Stout took home the team title with a 13-over par 301. Aurora was runner-up, carding a 311.

- Julia Imai of UW-Stout earned medalist honors with an even score of 72. Imai carded 14 pars and two birdies.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood University will close out their spring schedule at Viking Invitational on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. Action will take place from Highland Springs G.C. in Rock Island, Ill.
