Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MADISON, Wis. – The Todd Wehr Edgedome was rocking on Tuesday night as Eagle fans welcomed home the Edgewood College volleyball team after starting the season with 10 straight road matches. Even though they lost a set, the Eagles cruised to a 3-1 win over Concordia University Wisconsin before sweeping Maranatha Baptist after a marathon first frame.

The Eagles (10-2) seemed to click on all cylinders, winning the first set 25-13 over Concordia Wisconsin. The roles were reversed in the next frame as Edgewood College only hit .064 with eight errors compared to a .289 and 13 kill effort by the Falcons (2-4). After falling 25-15, the Eagles responded well, rolling over Concordia Wisconsin 25-18 and 25-14 in sets three and four to take the match three games to one.

Katie Wedvick had a monster game, leading all players with 14 kills and a .407 attack percentage. Jessica Martin and Jordan Winkler also had double digit kill totals with 13 and 11, respectively. Five different Eagles had at least 10 digs, including Lindsey Swansby who added 34 assists.

After Concordia Wisconsin pushed Maranatha Baptist to five sets, no one could have expected what took place in the first set between the Crusaders and the Eagles. At one point, Maranatha Baptist (6-1) had a six-point advantage over Edgewood College before the Eagles rattled of a 12-5 run to take their first lead of the game. From there, the two teams traded points back and forth with the crowd erupting for each one earned. Tied at 29-29, Swansby hammered home a thunderous kill on an assist from Thomsen that brought some fans to their feet. Edgewood College used that momentum as Swansby set up Sarah Schuchhardt who placed a perfect ball and sent the Eagles to a 31-29 set one victory.

With the crowd clearly on their side now, the Eagles dominated the rest of the way, winning 3-0 with 25-16 and 25-19 set victories. Edgewood College hit .342 and .297 in the final two frames to claim the victory.

Wedvick again earned honors with 15 kills and just five errors. Winkler was on her heels with 13 of her own to go along with nine digs. Rachel Tesch was all over the back row, adding up 19 digs. Swansby tallied another 34 assists with 13 digs.

Edgewood College is off for eight days before they face Lakeland College in Plymouth. The Eagles match with the Muskies takes place at 7:00 p.m. next Wednesday in the Woltzen Gymnasium.
