MADISON, Wis. – Edgewood University senior outside hitter
Katie Borchert was named First Team All-Region 8 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Wednesday afternoon.
Borchert, named NACC Player of the Year and First Team All-NACC in 2025, earned her first-ever All-Region nod as a senior. She played a critical role as a driving force in the Eagles' third-straight NACC Tournament Championship, being named the NACC Tournament MVP. She earned her second-straight All-NACC honor in 2025.
The Lake Mills, Wis. native reached 1,000 career kills and 200 career blocks while posting career highs in kills (374), aces (26), and digs (297) this season. Her kills paced Edgewood University while her digs were good for second on the team. She also posted 67 blocks. Her defense at the net and in the back row played a key role in a defense that was fifth in Division III in blocks per set (2.56) and 41st in opposing hitting percentage (.118).
Borchert shined when it mattered most in the NACC Tournament. In their five-set comeback victory against Concordia Wisconsin in the NACC Tournament Semifinal, she posted career-highs with 23 kills and 25 digs, hitting .271 with only four attack errors on 70 attempts. She posted double-digit kills in all three NACC Tournament matches and double-doubles in two of them.
Borchert finished the season with double-digit kills in 20 matches and double-digit digs in 14. She led the team with a .250 hitting percentage (minimum 200 attacks). The All-Region nod marked the fourth-straight season an Eagle was featured on the All-Region team (
