NCAA Volleyball rules have undergone many changes in the last decade which have had an effect on scoring and record keeping. Among those changes have been:

2008 - Games are shortened to 25 points and are now referred to as "sets"
2002 - The libero, a defensive specialist position, is introduced
2001 - Games are changed from 15-point traditional "sideout" scoring to 30-point "rally scoring" for the first four games of any match. The fifth game is changed to a 15-point rally scoring game.
