Box Score MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team inched one step close to their first conference title with a Senior Day blowout of Rockford University at Breese Stevens Field on Saturday.
Jenna Mineau and
Jennifer Dailey each scored twice and each had an assist in a 7-0 victory.
Egewood College (13-3-1, 9-1 NACC) dominated every aspect of the game, as Rockford University (1-16, 0-10 NACC) arrived with just nine available players. Senior Emily Berns scored on an assist from Mineau in the 13th minute to open the scoring. Another senior, Katie Pampuch broke free of a pair of defenders in the 20th minute and scored her third goal of the season for a 2-0 Eagle halftime lead.
Dailey picked up her first goal of the day in the 55th minute when she punched a chip shot over the head of Regent goalkeeper Alyssa Nicholson. Seven minutes later Dailey fed Mineau on a pretty give-and-go through the box for a 4-0 lead.
The Eagles thoroughly put the game away in the 68th minute with two goals in a span of 24 seconds. First Pampuch centered to Mineau for her second goal of the game, and in the blink of an eye, Berns crossed to Dailey for her second goal. The Eagles finished their scoring on an unassisted goal by Emily Skaer with 35 seconds left to play.
Edgewood College will host MSOE next Wednesday night at Breese Stevens Field with a NACC championship on the line. The Eagles last conference championship came in the final season of the Lake Michigan Conference back in the 2005 season.
