FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Following Saturday's loss, the Edgewood College women's soccer team needed a boost to get back on track. The Eagles got a goal in each period from Jennifer Dailey and the defense stepped up in the second half to come away with a 3-2 win over Marian University.

The Eagles (8-2, 4-1 NAC) attempted five shots before they finally got on the board in the 33rd minute when Elaine Gerry recieved a pass from Kristina Santaga and fired it in the back of the net. The goal was Gerry's 15th of the year and 90th of her career. Just one minute passed on the clock before the Eagles added to their lead with Dailey's first goal of the game off a pass from Ashley Alonso. Marian (3-5, 3-2 NAC) responded immediately with a score of their own when Leisa Conn found Laura Maly who snuck the ball past Eagles' goalkeeper Tori Fortney. The Sabres continued to attack the goal with five shots in the last six minutes of the half. Edgewood College thought they could head into the locker room with the lead, but a last second goal by Leisa Conn proved otherwise and tied the game 2-2.

The Eagles shrugged off the Sabres' last second goal and came out of the break with a vengeance. Dailey helped Edgewood College grab the lead 3-2 in the 55th minute with her second score of the game. The Eagle defense stepped up in the second half and did not surrender another goal the rest of the game.

Fortney made her second start in goal for the Eagles, earning her second win of the year. The sophomore from Batavia, Illinois grabbed a season-high seven saves in the victory. Marian's goalkeeper Caitlyn Rosenberger tallied three saves in the loss.
