MADISON, Wis. – The 40 degree weather was enough to cool down the Edgewood College women's offense, but not enough to freeze them. The Eagles notched a late goal in the first half and heated up in the second with two scores as they defeated Concordia University 3-0 to extend their winning streak to four games.

With three minutes remaining in the first half, the Eagles' Emily Dorsett dribbled up the right side of the field and centered a ball to the middle. A play could not be made on the ball, but a penalty kick was awarded following a Concordia Chicago (4-6, 2-6 NAC) foul. For the second straight game, Ashley Alonso was chosen to take the kick. Alonso duplicated her shot from Wednesday and nailed the go-ahead goal in the upper left corner of the net. Edgewood College (11-2, 7-1 NAC) took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Eagles fired seven shots before they tallied another goal. Dorsett found Elaine Gerry who took two dribbles and fired a bullet far post in the 64th minute for her 17th goal of the year. It looked like the Eagles were going to finish the game 2-0, but Lindsay Kloppenburg chipped a goal over Concordia Chicago's goalkeeper Callie Hasselbring with 23 seconds remaining in the game to give Edgewood College a 3-0 win.

Edgewood College's defense stymied Concordia Chicago and only allowed the Cougars to get off two shots and only one on goal. With the 3-0 win, the Eagles have now racked up seven shutouts this year.

Kristi Frisch played the entire game for the Eagles and grabbed the only shot she faced in her third shutout of the year. Hasselbring allowed all three goals and tallied seven saves for the Cougars.

The Eagles will host MSOE on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. as they try to win their fifth straight contest. Live stats and live video will be provided. These links can be found on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
