Box Score

ROCKFORD, Ill. – To earn a Northern Athletics Conference tournament first round bye, the Edgewood College women's soccer team only needed one more conference win before tonight.  The Eagles earned that victory with a 9-0 rout of Rockford College at Sam Greeley Field in Illinois.

Seven different Edgewood College (14-2, 10-1 NAC) players scored in the blowout of the Regents. Moe Baemmert was the first Eagle on the board as she put Edgewood College up early in the sixth minute. Just four minutes later, Kristina Santaga put the Eagles up 2-0 off Ashley Alonso's sixth assist of the year. With another score in the 12th minute, Santaga reached double digits in goals and assists with 10 and 11, respectively. The senior is the Eagle to accomplish this since Elyse Clouthier in 2006. Baemmert found Emily Dorsett in the 21st minute who gave Edgewood College a 4-0 lead over Rockford (1-12, 0-10 NAC) at the half.

Jenna Mineau got the Eagles rolling after the break with a goal at the 47:18 mark and Elaine Gerry notched her 95th of her career seven minutes later.  Emily Berns cashed in on an opportunity in the 56th minute to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead. Brianna Franked recorded a pair of assists to Megan Falk and Emilie Anderson who added insurance goals late in the game to comple Edgewood College's scoring.

Baemmert's goal in the 6th minute turned out to be her first career game-winner. Erin Peterson dished out a pair of assists in the Eagles shutout victory as 11 different Edgewood College players scored at least one point.

Kristi Frisch picked up the win in one half in goal while Caitlin Clifford and Megan Bower split the second half in the net for the Eagles. Catherine Holesha grabbed 10 saves in the loss for Rockford.

Edgewood College test their seven game win streak against non-conference foe UW-Stevens Point on Sunday. The Eagles have never beaten the Pointers in ten all-time meetings. Live stats and live video will be provided. These links can be found on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
