WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – Sunday's rainy conditions didn't leave any indication that the Edgewood College women's golf team would set any records. However, after 18 holes at St. Andrew's Golf Course, the Eagles had shot a Northern Athletics Conference record low 333 and cemented a third place finish in the Benedictine University Invitational. The Eagles shot 693 over two days for their first sub-700 round in a 36-hole event in at least five years.
Jenna Pfeffer fought through the wet conditions for a career-low, six-over par 77 on the second day of the tournament. She finished tied for 10th place with a two-day total of 172.
Jessica Spitzer was the Eagles' lowest finisher staying very consistent with an 86-82-168 to place fifth out of 46 golfers.
Amanda Bliske matched Pfeffer with a 172.
Emilee Guderyon placed 16th with a score of 183.
Mary Moore and
Melanie Chang rounded out the team with scores of 194 and 209, respectively.
The Eagles previous low in the last five years had been a 360, set earlier this season at the Monmouth Invitational. The previous record in the NAC belonged to Concordia University Wisconsin who shot a 337 at the same Benedictine Invitational on September 19, 2009.
