DE PERE, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team saw their undefeated start to the season vanish in a flurry. St. Norbert College scored three times in the first 10 minutes of the game and then held the Eagles at arm's length the rest of the way in a 3-1 non-conference match.

Maybe it was the long bus ride or the second game in two days, but St. Norbert College (3-0) got the jump on Edgewood College from the start. Erin McQuinn scored from a Zoe Kurth corner kick just two minutes into the game. It was the first goal of the season against Eagle starting goalkeeper Kristi Frisch. Katherine Larsen followed in the fourth minute with her first goal of the year, and Kellan Zimmer scored in the 10th minute to give the Green Knights a fast 3-0 lead. Katie Vanden Avond assisted on each of the last two goals for St. Norbert College.

Edgewood College (4-1) kept St. Norbert scoreless the rest of the first half and appeared to be on the verge of a comeback with a goal early in the second half. Kristina Santaga found Molly Haertle open in front of the net and the junior banged home her second goal of the season to trim the margin to 3-1. The Eagles, however, still only managed four shots in the entire second half and never found the back of the net again.

The Eagles will return to the road on Wednesday afternoon to face nationally ranked UW-Stevens Point. Edgewood College will return home on Saturday for a Northern Athletics Conference showdown with Dominican University.
