RIVER FOREST, Ill. – If the waiting is the hardest part, then Saturday afternoon was extremely difficult for the Edgewood College women's soccer team. The Eagles had to sweat out a scoreless game all the way into the final seven minutes before pulling out a thrilling 2-0 victory over Concordia University Chicago on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles had six shots on goal in the first 80 minutes of the match, but Concordia University Chicago goalkeeper Callie Hasselbring stopped them all to keep her team in the game. Finally in the 84th minute, Edgewood College (8-4-1, 5-2-1 NAC) was awarded a penalty shot after a Cougar yellow card foul. Brianna Franken calmly put the ball away to give the Eagles the lead.

Less than a minute later, Megan Falk put the game away with her second goal of the season. Emily Dorsett assisted on Falk's goal to put Edgewood College ahead 2-0 and seal the victory.

Edgewood College will now prepare for a NAC showdown at MSOE on Wednesday night. The Eagles and Raiders will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. in Milwaukee.
