MEQUON, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's soccer team had a chance to move into second place in the Northern Athletics Conference, but Concordia University Wisconsin wasn't quite willing to give up their spot. Edgewood College (7-4-1, 4-2-1 NAC) drew first blood in the 18th minute of the match. Kristina Santaga scored off a pass from Brianna Franken for her fifth goal of the season. It was also her third consecutive goal after scoring the final two in a 3-0 victory against Benedictine University on Saturday. Concordia University Wisconsin (6-5, 6-2 NAC) began to get the better of the Eagles in the second half. The Falcons fired off six consecutive shots in a span of six minutes, but didn't score as Edgewood College goalkeeper Kristi Frisch made three saves to preserve the lead.

Concordia Wisconsin finally broke through in the 64th minute on a goal by Ashley Apazeller. Just seven minutes later, Kelli Wittenberg scored to give the Falcons the lead for good. Edgewood College's leading scorer Elaine Gerry got off her team-high sixth shot of the game in the 86th minute, but it was saved by Falcon goalkeeper Samantha Anacker.
