MEQUON, Wis. - Some teams are just fit to be tied. For the second consecutive year, Edgewood College and Concordia University Wisconsin traded a pair of first half goals and neither team found the game winner in a 1-1 double overtime tie.

Edgewood College (1-2-1, 0-1-1 NAC) struck early in Wednesday's showdown. Abby Moder scored unassisted less than five minutes into the game to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. For Moder, it was her fifth goal of the season, which moves into a tie for sixth place on the Northern Athletics Conference scoring list. The Falcons (3-3-1, 1-0-1 NAC) would net the equalizer in the 32nd minute. Lauren Straehler connected on a pass from Kelli Wittenberg to even the match at a goal apiece.

The Eagles got off 10 shots in the second half compared to the Falcons five, but only two of them were on the frame. One of the Eagles' best chances came in the 54th minute, following a Tammi Hagensick corner kick. Beth Sherwood fired a shot that eluded goalkeeper Mary Ryan, but her Falcons teammates cleared the ball from the goal line.

Concordia Wisconsin put the pressure on in the overtime sessions with three shots on goal, but senior goalkeeper Ilana Bar-av turned each on one of them away to preserve the tie. Bar-av would finish the match with nine saves, including five in the first half.

The Eagles will be home for a pair of matches this weekend, hosting Benedictine University on Saturday and Lawrence University on Sunday.
