Seven Eagles record goals in 9-0 win over Inferno

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – In what was their second trip to Milwaukee this week, the Edgewood College women's soccer team returned home with a victory on Saturday. After a loss to MSOE on Tuesday, the Eagles defeated Alverno College 9-0 to cap the week.

The Eagles (10-5-2, 6-2-1 NAC) started the scoring early as they netted five goals in the first 16 minutes of the match. Tami Oilschlager put Edgewood College ahead in the third minute with the assists going to Clare Schumacher and Abby Moder. Kelsey Beck scored two of the next three goals with the other going to senior Tammi Hagensick. Fellow senior, Jessica Thompson scored her first career goal to give the Eagles a commanding 5-0 lead.

Before the first half was over, Edgewood College would stretch the lead to seven with Kelsey Bysted's third goal of the season and Hagensick's second of the game. The Eagles tacked on two more goals in second frame. Moder tallied her team leading 17th goal of the season while fellow freshman Katie Hunt scored her first career goal to give the Eagles a 9-0 victory.

In goal, Ilana Bar-av and Kristi Frisch split time with Bar-av compiling three saves to Frisch's one save for the combined shutout on 10 Inferno (7-11, 2-8 NAC) shots. Five of the nine Eagle goals were unassisted with Alice Udelhofen tallying an assist on Bysted's goal.

Edgewood College will be in action again on Monday night a Breese Stevens Field when the host Dominican University. Live stats and live video will be available on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com, weather permitting. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
