MILWAUKEE, Wis. – In 21 meetings all-time, MSOE had never beaten Edgewood College in women's soccer. That changed on Tuesday night in Milwaukee. The Raiders, who are leading the Northern Athletics Conference, topped the Eagles 2-0.

MSOE (10-5-2, 8-2-1 NAC) got started early as Heidi Brehmer took a shot in the seventh minute that got past Eagle keeper Ilana Bar-av, but the shot hit to post to keep the score tied at zero.

Edgewood College (9-5-1, 6-2-1 NAC) then put pressure on the MSOE as they tallied four of their six shots in the next 18 minutes, three of which were on goal. In the 10th minute, Tami Oilschlager ripped a shot that went just wide and five minutes after that, Abby Moder had two chances, both saved by Emma Lumper, the Raiders keeper. Lumpe would turn away another Eagle shot in the 26th minute, this time it was Clare Schumacher that let it fly.

The Raiders finally broke through in the 42nd minute on Colleen Krechel's fifth goal of the season as she took a nice pass from teammate Erin VandenLangenberg. It was the first goal MSOE had scored against Edgewood College since 2005 as the Eagles had shutout the Raiders in three straight contests.

MSOE tallied an insurance goal 18 minutes into the second half. This time it was Krechel getting the helper as she setup Jamie Janczk who netted her eighth goal of the year.

In the match, the Eagles tallied six shots to the Raiders eight with each team taking two shots in the second half. Bar-av tallied two saves for the Eagles while Lumpe recorded three saves for the Raiders.

Edgewood College will next be in action on Saturday when they travel back to Milwaukee, this time to face Alverno College. Alverno will be providing live video and live stats. Both links are available at EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com. The match is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
