Ashley Engler would double the next at bat while Amy Malcore would drive her in to bring the score to 2-0. In the bottom of the fourth Stephens would get a free pass on base to lead off the inning, thanks to a hit by pitch while Colleen Joyce would hit the Eagles lone hit of the game. Sabres pitcher Kristin Rose would walk Jamie Kurt to load the bases before striking out two straight to end the inning with three Eagle runners stranded on base. Rose (10-5) picked up the win, pitching a complete game one-hitter, striking out 10. Jenna Ryan (12-7) was saddled with the loss, despite allowing only three hits in the game.

With the score tied at five apiece, Julie Crofts singled to center field to drive home Amanda Manteufel as the Sabres took game two 6-5 to sweep the series. The next at bat, Jamie Kurt hit her ninth home run of the season, a towering shot to left field to score three runs and knot the score at five apiece. Jennifer Stephens (3-4) took the loss, despite pitching five solid innings and allowing just one run. Stephens struck out six batters and retired 12 straight Sabre batters after coming in with one out in the second in relief of Jenna Ryan.
