VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood University softball team hosted Lakeland University for doubleheader action on Senior Day, Sunday. The Eagles fell to the Muskies 4-1 in nine innings, before a 10-0 five inning loss in game two. Edgewood University celebrated the careers of four seniors – Natalie Fields, Lily Mabs, Gracie Halfman, and Chloe McLaughlin.

LAKELAND UNIVERSITY 4, EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 1 – 9 INNINGS
- Game one on Sunday afternoon featured a pitcher's duel between Lauren Prigge and Natalie Ziebell. Both sides saw their pitchers go the distance in the nine inning contest. Ziebell took home the win, striking out three batters and scattering five hits. Prigge posted five strikeouts and gave up seven hits.

- Edgewood University (12-21, 5-13 NACC) struck first in game one, as Allie Draper came across to score for the Eagles in the third inning. Lakeland University (23-12-1, 15-5 NACC) tied things up in the sixth inning thanks to a sacrifice fly off the bat of McKenzie Staudinger to plate Callie Linders.

- Neither team scored in the seventh or eighth frame. The Muskies left just one runner on base in the seventh and one in the eighth, but the Prigge worked well in the circle to hold the game a one run apiece.

- Lakeland broke things open in the ninth inning with a leadoff double to center field from Lexi Howard. An RBI single from Abby Heitman gave the Muskies a 2-1 lead. From there, Lakeland scored two more runs in the inning on an RBI double from Callie Linders for a 4-1 advantage. The Eagles couldn't respond in the bottom of the inning, as Ziebell made quick work of the Eagle batters.

- Mabs went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Eagles.

LAKELAND UNIVERSITY 10, EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 0 – 5 INNINGS
- The Muskies bats broke things open in game two, totaling 14 hits and scoring 10 runs. Lakeland wasted little time in the nightcap, taking 1-0 lead on an RBI single in the first inning. Lakeland scored three runs in the second and four in the third to put the Eagles on watch for the run-rule.

- The Muskie bats continued in the fifth frame, scoring twice for good measure and the 10 run final.

- Edgewood University struggled to find their rhythm in game two with one hit each from Fields, Grace Dooley, and Draper.

- Three Eagles saw time in the circle for game two, Ariana Macias got the start, while Hailie Boardman pitched 2.2 innings of relief before Natalie Fields took to the circle for the final inning on Sunday afternoon.
