Preview: Eagles travel to Aurora for NACC Men’s Lacrosse Tournament Quarterfinal

MONTGOMERY, Ill. – The Edgewood University men's lacrosse team earned their second-straight NACC Tournament berth. The No. 8 Eagles will travel to No. 1 Aurora University on Saturday, April 25. EdgewoodEagles.com gets you prepared for Saturday's league tournament matchup.

2026 NACC MEN'S LACROSSE TOURNAMENT PAGE

HOW THEY GOT HERE
- The Eagles claimed their spot in the NACC Tournament following an 8-5 win over Beloit to close out the regular season. Edgewood University finished conference play with a 4-7 record. A 14-10 upset win at Dubuque on Wednesday, April 8 highlighted the Eagles season.

- Edgewood University took home wins over Marian (15-2), Dubuque (14-10), Cornell (17-13), and Beloit (8-5). The Eagles upset win at Dubuque was a highlight of the regular season.

- Aurora University secured the top seed for the NACC Men's Lacrosse Tournament, going a perfect 11-0 in conference play for the second-straight season. During conference play, the Spartans scored 20.27 goals per game, posted 12.27 assists per game, and averaged 5.95 goals against.

- The Spartans claimed key wins over Concordia Wisconsin (11-9), MSOE (21-5), and Lake Forest (16-10) to win the regular season conference championship, outright.  

LAST MEETING
- Edgewood University and Aurora University last met on Saturday, April 4 in Montgomery, Illinois. The Spartans claimed a 26-8 win over the Eagles.  

- Wyatt Heabel led the Eagles attack with three goals and one assist. James Borgardt caused four turnovers, collected four ground balls, scored twice and added an assist. Logan Searles collected 18 saves in the conference contest.  

- 11 different Spartans scored in the regular season win. Chris Bucci found the back of the net five times and added an assist. Tyler Foerstel and Dylan Kranzush scored three times and dished out two assists. Caden Bunes added three goals. Noah Kosmicki caused three turnovers and collected six ground balls. Eli Etzler went 13-for-16 at the faceoff and collected 10 ground balls. Asher Deputy and Zach Fuzy spit time in net for the Spartans, combining for 14 saves.

NACC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
- This is the second-straight trip to the NACC Tournament for Edgewood University men's lacrosse. The Eagles faced Aurora University in 2025, falling in Montgomery, Illinois by a score of 22-7.

- Aurora University owns a 9-2 record in the NACC Tournament all-time, with three tournament championships to their name.
