FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood University women's golf team competed at the Marian University Invite on Sunday and Monday. The meet was hosted at Rolling Meadows Golf Course on Sunday and Whispering Springs Golf Club on Monday. Grace Schomin led the Eagles, finishing in 18th place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grace Schomin opened play on Sunday carding an 84. The freshman carded a 95 on day two to claim a top 20 finish of 18th. In Monday's round, Schomin recorded three birdies, two coming on the front-nine holes. Schomin's two-round total of 179 was best by the Eagles.
- Kendall Kafar posted a 186 across two days to place in a tie for 26th place. Kafar recorded a birdie in both rounds of the meet.
- Madison Najar carded a career-best score of 95 on Sunday's round. In round two, Najar carded a 100 that featured three birdies. Najar's total score of 195 was good for 36th place.
- Lily Sachtjen posted a career best mark of 204 for the Eagles. Sachtjen's career-best 18 hole score of 101 came in Monday's round that featured an eagle on hole three and two birdies.
Kamryn Ibinger rounded out the Eagles scoring lineup with a 260. Ibinger's best day came on Monday, a 122.
- Hannah Hegland competed for the first time as an Eagle. As an individual, Hegland posted a 241 to finish 45th overall. Hegland's best 18-hole score of 117 came on Sunday.
THE MEET
- Lake Forest College came out on top as the top team by 29 strokes over host Marian. The Foresters carded a team score of 644 (+68).
- Yinan Lu of Marian University took home medalist honors, shooting a two-round total of 156 (+12). Lu opened the meet with a 72 before closing out with an 82 on day two.

- Edgewood University will compete at the Benedictine Fall Invite on Wednesday, September 10. Action is set for 10:00 a.m. from West Chicago, Illinois.
