Hebert claims NACC FAR Award

MILWAUKEE Olivia Hebert has been named a recipient of the NACC FAR Award, the league office announced Wednesday.

The award was developed by the NACC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs) to recognize outstanding achievements and commitment in three essential areas – academic performance, contribution to athletics, and service to the campus community. Additionally, it recognizes the perseverance and determination demonstrated in the pursuit of success in those endeavors.

Each NACC institution is allowed to nominate two individuals per semester. These nominees are then taken under consideration by a subcommittee of the conference's FARS, which determines the winners.

Hebert closed her career with the Edgewood University softball team as the career record holder in runners caught stealing, runners picked off and doubles. The four-time First Team All-NACC honoree led the Eagles in 10 offensive categories in her senior season. Following the 2024 season, Hebert became the first Eagle to claim NFCA All-Region honors. Through her career, Hebert was a mainstay for the Eagles as a catcher.

Hebert has been recognized as a leader on campus, assisting at the Second Harvest Food Bank, the Multicultural Center Soup Kitchen, the Iron Kids Run, the Boys and Girls Club, as well as at a variety of Edgewood University campus clean-up initiatives. Academically, she worked with two other Edgewood University students to design, establish, and conduct a mesocosm seeding experiment at the University of Wisconsin Arboretum. As a result, Hebert has had research presented at the Wisconsin Prescribed Fire Council Annual Conference (2025), UW Arboretum Research Symposium (2025), and Edgewood Engaged (2025).

In the classroom, Hebert graduated as a biology and environmental science double major, carrying a perfect 4.00 GPA. She is a four-time NACC Scholar-Athlete, three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree, was named Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete, and College Sports Communicators Third Team Academic All-American.

The four additional recipients for the Winter/Spring of 2025 are:

- Donovan Carter, MSOE, baseball

- Tyler Dorsch, Concordia Chicago, baseball

- Kallie Norby, Edgewood University, women's basketball

- Emma Woodhouse, Dominican University, softball
