WAVERLY, Iowa – The Edgewood College women's cross country team had two runners post PRs as the Eagles competed at the John Kurt Invitational, hosted by Wartburg College. Ella Arenz led the way for the Eagles in the race, while Maya Thompson added a PR in the 5K race.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arenz led the Eagles by completing the race in a time of 20:37.8. In just her second race, Arenz posted a 5K PR to finish 22nd overall.
- Thompson added a second PR for the Eagles, crossing the finish line in 20:43.7. Her time was good for 27th place in the event.
- Emily Austin posted a time of 23:40.3 to finish 43rd.
- Hadley Hackinson rounded out the Eagles lineup with a time of 24:19.9 to finish 45th.
RACE RESULT
- Host team Wartburg collected the team victory, with seven runners in the top 10 (18 points). Cornell College was the meet runner-up with 45 points.
- Ellie Meyer was the top individual from Wartburg with a time of 17:57.4.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles will compete at the UW-Whitewater Tom Hoffman Invite on Saturday, September 21. Action is set for 10:00 a.m. from Whitewater, Wis.
