GENEVA, Ill. – The Edgewood College cross country teams competed at the NACC Championships on Saturday. Maya Thompson and Brett Cox led the Eagles across the finish line at the conference meet. The championship took place at Northwestern Medicine XC Course, which has proved to be a tough task for any competitor over the years.
WOMEN'S RACE: 6K
- Maya Thompson paced the Edgewood College women's cross country team on Saturday morning. The sophomore finished just outside of the All-NACC honorees with a 16th place finish in her first NACC Championships. Thompson posted a time of 24:35.8 to finish in 16th place.
- Ella Arenz finished 36th in her first conference championship appearance. Arenz posted a time of 26:07.2.
- Emily Austin ran her best 6K distance of the 2024 season on Saturday. Austin came across the finish line in 27:40.1 to finish in 60th place.
MEN'S RACE: 8K
- Brett Cox led the Edgewood College men's cross country team on Saturday. Cox posted his best 8K time of the season, a 29:55.8 on a tough course. He posted a 67th place finish on the afternoon.
- Nick Pacubas recorded a time of 31:02.8 in his first NACC Championships. The freshman finished 77th of 93 athletes.
- Kadin Wojcik rounded out the Eagles pack with a time of 32:34.9. Wojcik finished 86th at the conference championships.
