DECATUR, Ill. – The Edgewood College women's golf team competed at the Dechert Classic, hosted by Millikin University on Friday and Saturday. Braxton Brown led the Eagles, finishing in a tie for sixth place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brown opened the meet with an 85 on Friday afternoon. She improved by three strokes on Saturday to finish the tournament in a tie for sixth place with a two-round score of 167.
- Kendall Kafar continues to improve for the Eagles. She carded a career-low round of 88 and career-best 36-hole score of 180 in Decatur. Kafar finished in a tie for 21st place.
- Kamryn Ibinger carded a career-best round of 123 on Saturday to finish the meet in 50th place. Ibinger also carded a career-best 36-hole score of 250.
THE TOURNAMENT
- Illinois Wesleyan took home the team title, carding a 675 team score. IWU lead Saint Mary of the Woods by three strokes.
- Taryn Endres of UW-Oshkosh won medalist honors with a 161. She carded an 81 in round one, followed by an 80 on Saturday.
