BRISTOL, Wis.- The Edgewood College women's golf team opened their 2024-25 campaign at the Battle on the Border hosted by Carthage College. Braxton Brown impressed in round one, recording a career-best score. The Eagles finished in 17th place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Braxton Brown was on fire on Friday, carding a career-best 79. Brown recorded an impressive 37 on the front nine that featured two birdies in round one. The senior capped off the tournament with a score of 92 on Saturday. She finished in a tie for 20th place with a two-round score of 171.
- Freshman Kendall Kafar was next in line for the Eagles. She was consistent, recording a 105 on day one and improved by five strokes to a 100 on day two. Her two-round total of 205 was good for 87th place.
- Nadia Marshall carded a two-round total of 295. Her best score came on day two, a 142.
- Newcomer Kamryn Ibinger rounded out the Eagles pack with a score of 304. She opened with a 146 before carding a 158 to close out round-two.
THE TOURNAMENT
- UW-Whitewater was the top team at the event, taking home the victory with a team score of 619. NACC rival Aurora finished in second place with a score of 636.
- Kallie Lux of UW-Whitewater took home medalist honors following a scorecard playoff with three others. Elle Johnson (Whitewater), Chandler Sjoerdsma (Calvin) and Elle Johnson (Whitewater) each carded two-round scores of 154. Lux posted consecutive rounds of 77 to take home the individual title.

- Edgewood College will travel to Fond du Lac, Wis. to compete in the Marian University Fall Invite on Friday, September 6. Action will take place at Rolling Meadows Golf Course.
