WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – Braxton Brown earned All-NACC honors after finishing in a tie for seventh at the three-round NACC Championship, which concluded Monday at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club. Brown's 54-hole total of 243 (+30) is the best mark in program history. The senior led the team to a seventh-place finish with a team score of 1229.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brown carded her career-best 18-hole score of 78 on Sunday. The senior posted rounds of 85 on Saturday and 80 on Monday to finish the three-round meet with a score of 243. Brown's earned her first All-NACC honors.
- Kendall Kafar totaled a 262 over the three-day meet, good for 19th place. Kafar shot a career-best 84 on day one. The freshman carded an 85 on Sunday and finished the tournament with a 93 on Monday.
- Nadia Marshall was next in line for the Eagles, totaling 348 over the three rounds. She shot a career-best 110 in round one before carding a 120 and 118 to finish the final two rounds. Marshall's total was good for 43rd place.
- Kamryn Ibinger rounded out the Eagles lineup with a total of 376. Her 54-hole score was good for 44th place. Ibinger's best round came on Saturday, a 123 to tie her career-best mark.
- As a team, the Eagles best day of the tournament was Saturday when they recorded a 402. The team 18-hole score goes down as the best of the 2024 season.
THE MEET
- Aurora won the team title by 39 strokes over Marian University. The Spartans had three players in the top five. Aurora's coaching staff, led by head coach Justin Wyeth was named Coaching Staff of the Year.
- Ellie Knight captured medalist honors with a 10-over par 223 total score. She fired off rounds of 73, 74, and 76 to set a new 54-hole championship record for aggregate score and tie the overall championship score in relation to par.
