OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's golf team survived a suspended first round to compete in their first tournament of the 2017-18 season. The Eagles had to complete 31 holes on Sunday, after rain suspended play on Saturday just five holes into the tournament. The Eagles finished 12th, led by freshman Sarah Pophal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College showed remarkable consistency shooting identical scores of 429 in each round of the tournament.
- Freshman Sarah Pophal made an impressive collegiate debut, shooting 89 in her first round as an Eagle. She was tied for 18th after the first 18 holes, before settling for 34th place with a two-round total of 187.
- Taylor Mair began her senior season with scores of 104 and 101 to finish at 205 for the weekend.
- Freshman Kelsey Blankenheim and junior Molly DuCharme rounded out the Eagles squad with scores of 231 and 235, respectively.
FOR THE FOES
- An NCAA Championship qualifier last season, UW-Stout impressed in their 2017-18 debut, winning the team title with a scores of 340-326-666. They topped the host Titans by nine strokes.
- Hannah Braun of UW-Oshkosh shot an even-par 73 in the second round to finish at 155, winning the individual title by five shots.
