FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Freshman Sarah Pophal continued her stellar start to her career with a fifth-place finish (174) to lead the Edgewood College women's golf team to a sixth-place showing at the Marian Invite on Saturday and Sunday. Pophal's score is the Eagles best individual 36-hole score since 2011.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Pophal shot one of the best final rounds of the day (85), which is the Eagles best individual round since 2012
-The freshman's 36-hole total of 174 was the best since 2011 and ties the ninth-best score in Eagle history
-She was only six shots off the lead and one shot behind two-time defending NACC champion and Wisconsin Lutheran senior, Ellyn Mortell
-It was her first career Top-10 finish in her first three career meets
-Rounding out the Eagle varsity contingent was Molly DuCharme (21st, 202), Taylor Maier (31st, 220), Kelsey Blankenheim (34th, 227), and Laura Boudreau (37th, 237)

FOR THE OPPONENTS
-Concordia Wisconsin and Lakeland tied for the team lead (709) after Lakeland made up a one-shot deficit on the final day, St. Norbert finished third (762)
-The Eagles finished third out of the six NACC schools competing

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-The Eagles' first round total of 404 and 36-hole score of 820 is the best since 2013
