RACINE, Wis. – Edgewood College freshman Sarah Pophal had little problem competing with the best the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference had to offer. The Wauankee native placed eighth at the NACC Championships to earn her first All-Conference award.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pophal was consistent at the challenging Meadowbrook C.C. She shot an opening round 92 on Friday, but followed that with an 89 on Saturday to move up to seventh place. On Sunday, her score of 92 secured her top 10 finish and an all-NACC plaque with a score of 273.
- Kelsey Blankenheim finished 24th in her first conference championship. Her best round came on Saturday with a 109. Laura Boudreau shot matching score of 118 on the first two days to place 30th overall.
- Pophal becomes Edgewood College's first all-conference player since the 2011 season, and the first freshman to win all-conference since Emilee Guderyon accomplished the feat in 2009.
FOR THE FOES
- Concordia University Wisconsin overcame an eight-shot deficit after the second round to defeat Aurora University by 10 strokes. It was the Falcons' fifth NACC title and first since 2013.
- Leah Wilde of CUW beat out teammate Maddy Zastrow by one stroke for the individual title.
