DECATUR, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's golf team split their squad this weekend to participate in two events. The first was the Millikin University Hopkins Golf Classic where the Eagles finished 10th as a team. Junior Zach Hentrich fired a second round 72 to climb all the way into third place for the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College improved their team score by six strokes on Saturday, mostly thanks to improved scores at the top of the lineup from Zach Hentrich and Dawson Hinz. Hentrich shot 79 on Friday, but posted the tournament's second best, second round score on Saturday with an even-par 72. He finished with a seven over-par 151 which was three strokes off the tournament co-champions Zac Ciesia of Webster University and Juan Hurtado of Hannibal LaGrange College.
- Hinz shot four strokes better in the second round, firing a 77 on Saturday for a 36-hole total of 158, which placed him 32nd overall. Jensen Peck was the Eagles' most consistent player shooting 80 and 81 for a total of 161.
- Daniel Smith used an 81 on Friday to record a two-day total of 171, while James Gandolph rounded out the team, improving five by five strokes on Saturday for a score of 175.
FOR THE FOES
- Mount St. Joseph's had three players finish in the top 10 to claim the team title with a score of 610. Hannibal LaGrange College was second, seven shots back.
UP NEXT
- The rest of the Edgewood College team will be playing in the MSOE Invitational at Lake Geneva, Wis. beginning on Sunday and concluding on Monday.
