JANESVILLE, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's golf team opened their 2026-27 season hosting the Culver's Edgewood University Fall Invitational at Glen Erin G.C. 20 team represented by 16 schools battled it out on opening weekend. The Eagles finished with a team score of 610, landing them in 14th place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brooks Luttinen impressed for the Eagles, leading the way with a career-best 148 (+6). Luttinen carded a 76 on Friday before improving to a career-best 72 (+1) on Saturday. The fifth year carded seven birdies on the weekend, four coming in the final round. Luttinen finished in a tie for 28th place in the tournament.
- Drew Gunderson opened his sophomore campaign with a 151 (+9), tying his career-best round. Gunderson carded a 77 on Friday before combining two birdies with 12 pars for a 74 on Saturday. The sophomore's consistency put him in a tie for 44th place.
- Josh Potter posted a two-day score of 153 (+11) to finish in a tie for 57th place. Potter closed the weekend with his best round, a 76 on Saturday. Potter totaled three birdies on the weekend.
- Noah Frederickson and Brayden Olstad rounded out the Eagles team lineup. Frederickson carded a 158 that featured a 78 on Saturday. Olstad posted a 172, improving by six strokes to an 83 in the second round.
- Isaac Vogel carded a 161 in his first collegiate round. The freshman carded a 79 in round two, making a three-stroke improvement from the first day of competition. On the weekend, Vogel carded five birdies, three coming in Friday's round.
- Jack Vesperman competed as an individual for the Eagles. The junior posted three birdies on way to a 168. Vesperman saw a four-stroke improvement on Saturday, carding an 82.
- Nick Ibinger carded a 175 in his first tournament as an Eagle. Ibinger posted rounds of 83 and 92.
- Charlie Huerth competed in Friday's round for the Eagles as an individual. The junior carded an 88 that featured one birdie and six pars.
THE TOURNAMENT
- UW-Stout shot a nine under 559 to claim the team championship. The Blue Devil's shot a seven under par 277 in Saturday's round.
- Andrew Bauer of UW-Stout posted a four under par 138 to win medalist honors. Bauer carded a 72 on Friday before improving to a 66 on Saturday.

- Edgewood University will compete at the Judson University Fall Invite on Friday, September 11. Action will take place at 12:00 p.m. from Randall Oaks G.C. in West Dundee, Ill.
