2016-17: Competed in four events and posted a scoring average of 85.14 over seven rounds... Shot a season-best 81 in the first round of the Hopkins Collegiate Classic on September 30-October 1, eventually tied for 75th with a score of 81-90=171... Shot either a 170 or 171 in all three of his tournaments.

High School: Played at South Elgin where he helped his team finish third at Regionals and advanced to Sectionals... Finished top-5 as an individual five times and placed fifth at Regionals... Averaged 77.8 over 18 invites and 39.4 in nine-hole invites.

Personal: Son of Ken and Kathy Smith... Participated in class council, was one of the fan section leaders for sporting events, and was a peer minister... Travelled on four mission trips, two pay it forward tours, and was a leader on two confirmation retreats... Has attended the Masters in Augusta, Ga., his favorite TV show is Sportscenter, and his brother Kyle Smith played baseball at Edgewood College... Majoring in Political Science.
