Edgewood College vs. Maranatha Baptist, Benedictine and Wisconsin Lutheran preview (.pdf)

The Edgewood College baseball team sits in fourth place in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference standings, but this weekend could be an important test. The Eagles host NACC co-leader Benedictine University on Saturday at Stampfl Field, before heading east to Milwaukee for a Sunday doubleheader against Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Eagles open play this week with a home doubleheader against former NACC rival Maranatha Baptist University.

All Eagle home games this season, including Thursday and Saturday's doubleheaders will be videocast live on the internet. Links for all coverage can be found on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com. There will be no live coverage of Sunday's games in Milwaukee.

Edgewood College has dominated the all-time series with Maranatha Baptist, their closest NCAA Division III opponent. The Eagles have won 26 straight games over the Sabercats dating back to 2003. Overall, the Eagles have won 47 of 52 games over Maranatha Baptist. Benedictine University holds a narrow 10-9 advantage in the all-time series after sweeping Edgewood College last season. Benedictine hasn't played at Stampfl Field since 2012. Edgewood College won 15 straight games over Wisconsin Lutheran College from 2004 to 2009, but the Eagles are just 6-4 versus the Warriors since. The Eagles still lead the all-time series 39-21.
