Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MARQUETTE, Mich. - Edgewood College began the 2015 season by splitting a pair of games Saturday morning at the Finlandia University Dome Tournament at the Superior Dome. The Eagles first beat the host Lions 5-1 before dropping a 9-1 contest against Simpson College.

The Eagles fell behind early 1-0 after the first half inning against Finlandia but Katie Landon hit an RBI triple in the bottom half of the inning to make it even. Edgewood College then scored four in the bottom of the third to round out the scoring in the game. Alyssa Schulting had an RBI single in the frame and Rachel DeJongh scattered four hits and held the Lions scoreless the rest of the way for the win.

Jackie Diesch provided all the offense against Simpson College by smacking a home run over the centerfield fence in the top of the fifth. Storm starting pitcher Riley Fisher got the win by allowing just one hit over five innings and struck out nine.

Edgewood College gets back into action on Sunday against Lake Superior State University at 12:15 pm (CT) before closing out the tournament with UW-Superior at 2 pm.
