BRISTOL, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's golf team kicked off the season at the Carthage Tournament on the Border this past weekend. Lightning shortened Friday's round to nine holes, but everyone finished 18 on Saturday to book it as a 27-hole event. Three Eagles competed at Bristol Oaks Country Club, with freshman Paige Murdoch leading the way.

Freshman Dana Marshall fired a 50 on Friday to lead the trio while Melanie Chang and Murdoch followed closely, each coming in at 54. Murdoch stood out on day two, however and was the only Edgewood College golfer to break 100 as she carded a 94 for a two day total of 150. Marshall was close behind with a 151 while Chang was on her heels with a 154. Individually, Murdoch tied for 70th in the field of 89 golfers.

The three women will be back at it next Saturday for a one day event in Illinois. The Monmouth Fighting Scots Invitational will take place at Gibson Woods Golf Course beginning at 9:00 a.m.
