EAU CLAIRE Wis. - The Georgianni Memorial UW-Eau Claire Invite was packed with talent including teams from all over the Midwest.  All six Edgewood College women golfers participated, but the tough competition made it hard for them to place high. The Eagles shot a two day total of 833 to place 20th out of 20 teams.

The first day was played at the par 72 Mill Run Golf Course in Eau Claire and although it was the shorter of the two courses, it proved difficult for the Eagles. Emilee Guderyon carded a 93 and was the only Edgewood College golfer to shoot below the 100 mark. As a team, the Eagles shot 17 strokes lower on day one than they did on day two.

Wild Ridge Golf Course was the location for the second day of the tournament. This course played just over 200 yards longer than Mill Run Golf Course and it was just as challenging for the Edgewood College. Again Guderyon shot the lowest on the team with a 99. She finished tied for 84th in the field of 110 golfers with a score of 192. Melanie Chang and Sydney Jedlicka both improved their scores from day one.

Washington University from St. Louis, Missouri sat in fifth place after day one of the tournament, but to shoot a tournament low 314 on Sunday for a combined 646 to edge Gustavus Adolphus College by two strokes for the win. Olivia Lugar from Washington University was the medalist, shooting a 155 two day total 155.

Edgewood College will travel to Galesburg, Illinois for the one day Knox College Invitational this Friday. A day later they will participate in the Monmouth College Invitational in Monmouth Illinois.
