JORDAN, Minn. –The Edgewood College women's golf team has showed consistency all year, and the Eagles carried that into the NAC Championship. Edgewood College shot a three day total 1217 to finish fifth in the nine team championship.
After round one of the NAC Championship, the Eagles found themselves in fifth place with a score of 414. Emilee Guderyon shot a 96 to pace Edgewood College. Alice Whalen and Mary Moore shot 103 and 104 while Melanie Chang and Sydney Jedlicka rounded out the Eagle's top five with 111 and 121, respectively.
The Eagles shot 13 strokes better on day two, but fell one spot in the standings to sixth. Although Edgewood College dropped a spot, they did not let it bother them and persevered on day three. The Eagles shot a final round 402 to edge jump ahead of Aurora University for fifth place.
Whalen improved her score every day and finished only one stroke out of the top ten. After a 99 on round one, Whalen carded a 93 and 92, respectively to finish 11th out of 44 golfers with a three day total of 288. Guderyon broke 100 every day and finished tied for 15th with a 294. Mary Moore was the next Eagle finisher after posting a 317 followed by Melanie Chang with a 321. Sydney Jedlicka shot a 335 to complete Edgewood College's scoring.
Concordia University Wisconsin ran away with the championship and cruised to a 104-stroke victory. The Falcons shot scores of 362, 342, and 358 for a total of 1062. Concordia Wisconsin boasted the top three finishers while Jordan Osowski earned the individual medalist and Freshman of the Year honors with a 45 over par 261.
Following the three day NAC Championship, the Eagles have concluded the fall portion of their schedule. Edgewood College will resume their season in the spring of 2011.
