JANESVILLE, Wis. – Sometimes Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, and that's what the Edgewood College men's golf team found out on Saturday morning. With Brent Quade tied for the lead and the team trailing by just one stroke after day one of the Culver's Edgewood College Fall Classic, the Eagles were excited for day two. However, the rains came and the tournament was shortened to one day leaving the Eagles with a second place finish and giving Quade the win, based on a scorecard tiebreaker from the first day.

Quade led the Eagles with an even par round of 71 which tied him with Chris Kerr of the University of Dubuque and Ethan Schmitz of UW-Stout for the tournament lead. To figure out the who the medalist was, the coaches looked and the scorecards and Quade was named the medalist.

As a team, the Eagles posted a 299, which was only one stroke behind tournament winner Viterbo University. Edgewood College's 299 was the first time they broke the 300 mark since last October 3 and 4 at the Auora/MSOE Invitational. Andrew Cobb was the Eagles' next finisher as he posted a 73 to finish in sixth place. Logan Kranz and Tyler Cobb rounded out the team with scores of 77 and 78, respectively.

Patrick Bohrer and Michael Mathwick also posted low scores for the Eagles, as they both shot 76 to lead the Edgewood College Black team. Ryan McCrumb was not far behind with a 78.

The Eagles will be in action again this weekend at the Augsburg College Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The tournament will take place at Majestic Oaks G.C. in Ham Lake, Minnesota.
