CAPE CORAL, Fla. – After getting a walk-off win last night, the Edgewood College softball team earned another win in that fashion as the Eagles topped Lasell College 5-4 on Bria Hahn's two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning. However, the Eagles could not keep that momentum in game two as they fell to Stockton College 7-4.

Edgewood College (2-6) jumped ahead early when they scored two runs in the second inning. DJ Endres started the frame with a walk and came around to score on a throwing error. After an out, pitcher Jasha Gilbert ripped a double down the left field line to score Jessica Diaz and put the Eagles up 2-0.

Lasell College (0-7) scored a run in the fourth and another in the sixth to tie the contest at two after Santina Antoshank walked and scored on a Candace Hankard double. The Lasers then took the lead in the top of the seventh inning as Antoshank drew a bases loaded walk with one out. However, Charlie Leikness struck out the next batter and got a ground out to end the frame.

Gilbert started the seventh inning with a hit by pitch and Karmen Dorshorst came in and pinch ran for her. Kayla Rackow then singled to the pitcher as she tried to lay down a sacrifice bunt. After a fly out that advanced both runners, Hahn laced a single to center field that scored both runners and gave the Eagles the 4-3 victory.

Six Eagles recorded hits in the contest and Hahn led the team with two runs batted in.

Stockton College (3-3) wasted no time thwarting the Eagles' momentum after their second consecutive walk-off win as the Osprey scored early in the first inning. Katelyn Derewecki started the game with a double down the left field line and Meaghan Ireland followed with a double to left field that scored Derewecki and gave the Osprey a 1-0 lead.

The Eagle offense was held down until the fourth inning when Emily Monson recorded the Eagles' first hit of the game. Hahn then reached on an error and Jessica Spitzer followed with the big blow as she took a 2-2 pitch and drove it over the left center field fence to put the Eagles up 3-1 after four innings.

However, Stockton exploded for five runs in the sixth inning. In the frame, the Osprey scored five runs, thanks in part to three Eagle fielding errors, and took a 7-3 lead.

Edgewood College got a run back in the sixth inning after Hahn scored on a ground out, but the Eagles couldn't complete the comeback in the seventh as they fell 7-4.

Carlene DeCoster led the Eagle offense, going 2-for-3 at plate along with making a nice running catch at the center field wall to take away extra bases. Spitzer drove in three runs and Hahn scored two of the Eagles' four runs. Leikness took the loss, but only two of the seven runs that scored were earned.

The Eagles will be in action again tomorrow as they take on Brockport State at 1:00 p.m. eastern time and the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth at 3:00 p.m. eastern time. Edgewood College will provide live stats for both contests and the link can be found on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
