JANESVILLE, Wis. - In their preparation for the Northern Athletics Conference championship next weekend, the Edgewood College women's golf team faced stiff competition at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Invitational. Led by junior Jessica Spitzer, the Eagles placed seventh in the tournament with a team score of 386 at the Riverside Golf Course in Janesville.
Spitzer fought the heavy winds to shoot a 41 on the back nine and finish with an 84, good enough for a tie for fourth place in the 49 player field. Emilee Guderyon was three shots off the lead after the front nine, and finished in 14th place with a score of 90. Amanda Bliske turned in a score of 103 and placed 41st, while Mary Moore shot 109 and tied for 44th.
Edgewood College will have a two-day event beginning on Sunday at the Concordia University Wisconsin Invitational in Mequon. That meet will be their final preparation before the NAC Championship on October 1-2 at Glen Erin Golf Course in Janesville.
