JANESVILLE, Wis. – Facing a four stroke deficit after the first day of the Northern Athletics Conference women's golf championship, the Edgewood College women's team had their first title since 2004 in their sights. However, the Eagles shot five strokes higher on the second day and ultimately lost ground to Concordia University Wisconsin, finishing as the NAC runner-up for the fourth time in the last five years.

Edgewood College junior Jessica Spitzer was in second place with a 79 in Friday's first round, but struggled mightily on the second day. Spitzer finished with a two-day total of 174, 14 strokes behind individual medalist Muriel McIntyre of CUW. Emilee Guderyon shot a 94 and a 95 to place sixth overall, while Amanda Bliske had a two-day total of 195 to place eighth. Mary Moore provided a lift on the second day, shooting 13 strokes better than round one and finishing in 19th place.

By virtue of their top 10 finishes, Spitzer and Guderyon earned their second consecutive all-Northern Athletics Conference awards, while Bliske earned her third straight honor.

With the NAC Championships, the Eagles have concluded the fall portion of their schedule. They will resume their season in the spring of 2011.
