EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The Edgewood College women's golf team is selected as a co-favorite in the Northern Athletics Conference, but preseason polls don't earn you any breaks against the region's top teams. Against a stacked field of teams, the Eagles shot an 831 and placed 21st at the Georgianni Memorial UW-Eau Claire Invitational.
Freshman Emily Gudeyron was a bright spot on the weekend, leading the Eagles with a 92 on Saturday and an 88 on Sunday for a 180, placing her 57th among 111 golfers. Sophomore Amanda Bliske had the Eagles top score on Saturday, shooting an 88 at Mill Run Golf Course on Saturday and finishing with a 184. Freshman Mary Moore and Stephanie Leahan rounded out the team with scores of 215 and 252, respectively.
The Eagles will return to action this weekend when they play in a pair of one day events. Edgewood College will participate in the Knox College Invitational on Friday and the Monmouth College Invitational on Saturday.
