FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's golf team nearly earned their first tournament win of the season this weekend at the Marian University Fall Invitational where they shot 754 to finish just two strokes behind Concordia University Wisconsin.
Just as they did last weekend, the Eagles put three golfers in the top 10. Jessica Spitzer finished second, only one shot behind tournament winner Muriel McIntyre. Spitzer shot 87 on the first day and 83 on day two for a total of 170 on the tournament. Amanda Bliske and Emilee Guderyon finished seventh and eighth, respectively with scores of 184 and 185.
Freshman Mary Moore put together her best finish of the season, 16th. She shot 107 on day one and 108 on day two for a total of 215. Stephanie Leahan rounded out the squad as she shot a 236. The Eagles were a full 46 shots clear from third place Marian University.
The Eagles will wrap up their season at the Northern Athletics Conference Championships on October 4-5 at Glen Erin G.C. in Janesville, Wis.
