MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Eagles pounded out 20 hits and six home runs in a doubleheader sweep of the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee on Wednesday. It was the 14th straight game that Edgewood College has recorded a team batting average over .300 as they push their record to 7-9 overall and 3-3 in the Northern Athletics Conference.

The Eagles' Colleen Joyce has been on quite a tear of late. The sophomore hit safely in her 13th straight game with a solo home run in the first inning of an 11-1 victory in game two over MSOE. In game one, Joyce led the Eagles to a 9-2 win after a 2-for-4 performance in which she belted two homers and drove in five RBI. Joyce is hitting .500 during her 13-game hitting streak with four home runs and 12 RBI. She's hitting .422 on the season.

Edgewood College (7-9, 3-3 NAC) didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard after a Leslie Osman leadoff home run, her first of the season and second of her career. After a couple strikeouts and an error which allowed Jamie Kurt to reach first base after being punched out, Joyce began her quest in terrorizing the MSOE Raider pitching staff when she hit a 1-out two run homer to make the score 3-0.

With a 4-2 lead, the Eagles created some separation with a big 3-run fifth inning capped off by a Kristen Salvatore double which brought home a pair of runs. A little more insurance was provided with Joyce's second homer of the game, a 2-run shot in the seventh inning to add the final tally.

In game two, the Eagles again led off the game with three runs in the first inning, this time is was Kurt who provided the spark with a 2-run homer, her fourth of the year. Then Joyce made it back-to-back jacks with a solo shot to tie Kurt for the team lead in home runs. Edgewood College would score in four of the five innings before an 11-1 rout. Every Eagle recorded a hit except Hannah Grossen, but she did manage to score a run. Osman finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Her batting average sits atop the NAC at .527. Emily Monson and Kurt also had multi-hit games.

Brittany Andrews got the win in game one to move to 2-1 on the year while Rachel Elliott picked up her first win of the season in game two to move her record to 1-3. Edgewood College will host Loras College in a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader at Ceniti Park on Thursday. It'll mark the beginning of an 8-game homestand for the Eagles.
