TUCSON, Ariz. – The Edgewood College softball team picked up its third win of the season and third win during its current 10-game spring trip in Tucson, Ariz. The Eagles split a pair of contests by defeating Augsburg College 6-1 after falling to Wesleyan University (Conn.) 8-2 on Wednesday.

In their win, Eagle outfielder Charli Metcalf led the way with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate and drove in three runs against Augsburg. Rachel Elliot went 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Leslie Osman went 3-for-4 and Emily Monson finished the game 2-for-3.

Edgewood College used a 5-run fifth inning following Augsburg's tying tally in the third inning to break the game wide open. Augsburg had few chances to get back into the game thanks in large part to Jenna Ryan. The senior pitcher struck out 10 batters and allowed just three hits over seven innings to get the win.

Earlier in the day, Kristen Salvatore went 2-for-3 with an RBI despite an 8-2 loss to Wesleyan. The Eagles will wrap up their spring trip on Thursday with games against Augsburg and Amherst.
